about

Lingua Lustra delves into a glowing surreal world with “Vapor”. Effortlessly blending drone, field recordings, found sound, and neon lit ambient hues into a cohesive mix, the entirety of the album paints with a tremendous amount of color. Throughout the album, the way the songs interact with each other feels masterful, as the tracks work as moments of a greater longer journey. Rhythm is utilized with the greatest of care, for by foregoing beats, Lingua Lustra allow the works to speak for themselves. Melodically rich the songs feel vibrant, full of life, and unknowably dense. Tender tones reside in the opening “Vapor 1”. Within the piece the song expands into the heavens. Quite pristine the pitch-perfect sculpture has a translucent elegance to it, while it stately wafts about with such ease. Heavenly with its scope “Vapor 2” chooses the higher range of pitches to explore, as it suggests a wordless choir just beyond the horizon. Mystery permeates “Vapor 2” for the way it swirls about references shoegaze in an indirect fashion. Diving deep into subterranean worlds “Vapor 3” extends out into the infinite. Gentle piano graces the environment for the decay of the keys adds to its overall serene soothing nature. Allowing for a little improvisation “Waterfall” brings field recording it, as Lingua Lustra matches the cadence, letting the two coexist. Ever so slightly, the track evolves in subtle almost unnoticeable ways entire universes are coaxed from the slight variations. On “Vapor” Lingua Lustra emerges into a lovely series of gorgeous terrains. Beach Sloth
